Yeah, wrong wheel drive, but I can't afford the quattro. I've heard good things about these cars though.

I've been looking at exhausts for it, but Jesus are they expensive. I just want a little louder than stock.

This should be fun then. The guy said he's had a lot of stuff replaced. I'll find out when I drive it this week.

Is there anything major I should watch out for as I'm checking it out?

I know nothing about them except that the first 38 steps of a timing belt /water pump job consist of that you see in that photo.

I helped a neighbor with his Passat, and it was a PITA. I can't imagine how much a shop would charge for that.

Keep an eye on the timing belt, tstat, and jplug. All fun upgrades for Audis are a little spendy. But worth it.

The guy said that that all of that has been replaced in the last 10k miles. Even if it breaks, I'll just fix it in the driveway. I don't really want it to be super fast or anything. Mainly just a little better exhaust note, and a different intake so I can hear the spool better. Because turbo. I'm gonna have to get the back window re-tinted though. Too many bubbles for my taste.

The black paint on it adds another 10hp at the headlight, yo.

I'm capable of doing it all myself, especially if it's gonna cost a kidney. The guy said all of that has been replaced in the last 10k or so.

I also am aware that the car received NO preventive maintenance the entire time the owned it. They added oil when the oil light came on, and added other fluids when they had to. Every time they took a car in to the shop, they always got bad news - so they stopped taking them.

I kept waiting for the car to die, but it didn't.

Jesus. This guy seems like an enthusiast though. As I've been talking to him he really knows his Audi's. Plus he has all receipts for any major maintenance done to the car.

The 8 ball joints can be expensive to replace. I'm a mechanic in Columbus, hit me up if you want to put it on a lift to inspect it

I'll keep that in mind. What's the name of your shop? I don't live in Athens, I actually live more South. I don't mind the drive though.

I'll keep that in mind. I live in the middle of nowhere. Not many garages I can trust.
